From Robin Hood to the digital era: HRD as a driver for future creativity, innovation and change

Nottingham Business School and the University Forum for Human Resource Development is delighted to invite you to attend the UFHRD2019 annual international conference. In this conference, you will have the opportunity to celebrate its 20th Anniversary with the scope to advance further HRD thinking and practices and celebrate together the achievement of the HRD community across the globe. You will be able to evaluate the digital revolution towards organisational learning and how organisations prepare themselves to address future HRD needs. In the current socio-economic conditions, HRD can shaped future practices including innovation, change and performance, therefore you will be able to debate the role of HRD in relation to quality of jobs, engagement, diversity, leadership,  talent, learning and new technologies.

The conference will take place in Nottingham, home of the legendary outlaw Robin Hood, a city with dynamic culture, rich history and sporting glory. You will have the opportunity to trace the footsteps of Robin Hood and discuss how a legendary figure can shape the future of any organisation through learning, progressive change and justice.

Most importantly, we hope our AHRD colleagues and partners to be able to join us and engage in a number of Memorabilia events, professional workshops, networking activities, plenary sessions and much more.

HRD in Practice Forum

The scope of the Forum is for practitioners, leaders and organisations to showcase their work-based projects, experience and insight with other delegates. Bridging the divide between practice and research is a key issue for Nottingham Business School. So, we welcome submissions from practitioners, with or without academic affiliations, who would like to help to bridge the gap between scholarship and practice in the field of HRD. A number of professional workshops and activities will be offered to delegates.

Doctorial Symposium

The Doctoral Symposium is held on Monday 24 June 2019 in conjunction with the 20th Anniversary University Forum for Human Resource Development (UFHRD) Conference at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University, on June 24-26 2019.  The goal of the Doctoral Symposium is to provide a supportive atmosphere for doctoral students to showcase and receive feedback on their ongoing work. Doctoral students at different stages in their research will have an opportunity to discuss their problem statements, goals, methods and results. The symposium aims to provide participants with useful guidance on various aspects of their research from established researchers and other fellow students working in relevant research areas. The symposium also aims to enable doctoral students to interact with other participants and potential collaborators in order to stimulate an exchange of ideas, suggestions and experiences towards the development of their scientific curiosity.
